Create the life you want tomorrow through what you do today. We make our decisions, but our decisions ultimately make us. Creating the life we want tomorrow makes us think of Proverbs 16:32: "He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city."
If you look at the life of Jesus, He was and is a long-term thinker. He always did what was best for a great future, rather than doing what would just feel good at the moment. He contemplated His actions, including not throwing words out loosely.
It can be very easy to speak or act in the heat of the moment if someone is rude or unkind to us, but Jesus calls us higher, to start thinking before we speak or act. The strength to "rule our spirit" like this comes from daily being in relationship with Him.
We can choose today to make decisions that will create the future we desire. Program your thinking to distance, rather than immediate gratification. Program your daily decisions for endurance, rather than a short race. Think long term about your prayer life, relationships, exercise habits, health and so on. When you make decisions that create a desired future, rather than only a desired present, you will reap great rewards for it in the long run and live a life of no regrets! Blessings to your day!
